Mission and Actions
The Dictorate –General of Preventive Airport Security of the Airport Security Police, is in charge of the organic and functional management of the preventive airport security system of the PSA and of the application of the private security regimen in the airport area.
The organic dictorate of the preventive airport security system of the PSA consist of the design, elaboration, planning and/or upgrade of:
1] The police strategical and operative doctrine of preventive airport security.
2] The organic and deployment of the departments and units of the preventive airport security system.
3] International relations in all relative to the preventive security system as well as the management, planning and/or coordination of the participation of the institution in forums, international events referred or related to the preventive airport security system.
The functional management is developed through the Centre of Analysis, Command and Control of the Airport Security (CEAC), through the following actions:
1] Elaboration, planning, implementation and evaluation of the preventive airport security strategies and actions developed by the PSA.
2] Planning, management and control of the preventive airport security actions and operations carried out by the institution- and its different specialized departments-, tending to guarantee the national or international aviation security, through surveillance , verification and control of facilities, vehicles, people , baggage, mail, cargo, goods and things transported, as well as aircrafts and crews inside the airport.
3] Planning, management and control of the plotted actions and operations and those of immediate response carried out by the institution- and its different specialized departments- before situations of crisis arising from circumstances such as illicit empowerment of aircrafts, bomb threatens, sabotage or any other critic or criminal event which may happen in the airport area and on the aircrafts which were not flying.
4] Planning, management and control of the actions and operations tending to the prevention and plotting of crimes and misdemeanours in the airport area.
5] Planning, management and control of the management and administration activities of the airport preventive information and intelligence performed by the corresponding departments of the institution.
6] The coordination of the preventive security tasks of the institution with other bodies and/or security or supervision police forces, which act within the airport area, as well as with foreign security agencies which there were functional connections settled in the reciprocity with.
7] The assistance and cooperation with the competent authorities in the criminal research and crime persecution, according to the requirements made by such authorities that have to be carried out by the preventive airport security system.
